About Snazzam

Snazzam is an independent website built and run by Tim Costello. It started in 2026 with a simple goal: give anyone a fast, honest way to answer everyday money questions, such as how much a mortgage will really cost, how long it will take to pay off a credit card, or what a paycheck looks like after taxes, without signing up for anything or handing over personal information.

Snazzam is not a bank, lender, broker, or investment adviser, and it does not sell financial products. The site is supported by advertising, which keeps every calculator and guide free to use.

Every calculator uses standard, widely published formulas. Loan and mortgage tools use the ordinary amortization formula that lenders use to set fixed monthly payments. Savings and investment tools use compound interest math with the compounding frequency you choose. Debt payoff tools simulate your balances month by month, applying interest and then your payment, so you can see exactly when each debt is paid off and how much interest you pay along the way.

Tax and retirement tools use official 2026 figures published by the IRS and the Social Security Administration, including the 2026 federal tax brackets and standard deductions, 401(k) and IRA contribution limits, and the Social Security wage base. These figures change every year, and we review and update them annually as new numbers are released. Where a calculator simplifies a complicated rule, such as state taxes or benefit phase-outs, the page explains the assumption so you know what the result does and does not include.

The guides in our Money Guides section explain the concepts behind the calculators: how amortization works, the difference between APR and APY, how tax brackets are applied, and more. Each guide uses worked examples with real numbers, and the figures in those examples are calculated with the same formulas the calculators use. Every page shows the month it was last updated.

The numbers you type into a Snazzam calculator are processed in your own browser. They are not sent to our servers, saved, or shared. Like most websites, Snazzam may use analytics and advertising services that set cookies; our Privacy Policy explains what those services collect and how to control it.

Accuracy matters. If you spot an error, an outdated figure, or a calculator that behaves unexpectedly, please let us know through the contact page. Every message is read, and confirmed errors are corrected promptly.
