Salary Converter — Free 2025

Convert between hourly, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual salary.

Job offers, contracts, and pay rates come in many forms — hourly, weekly, monthly, or annual — and comparing them fairly requires converting everything to the same basis. This calculator translates any pay rate into all the others so you can compare offers and understand exactly what you earn.

How the conversions work

The calculator uses standard full-time assumptions: 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year, giving 2,080 working hours annually. An hourly wage multiplied by 2,080 yields the annual salary, while an annual salary divided by 2,080 gives the equivalent hourly rate. Monthly figures divide the annual by 12, and weekly figures divide by 52.

A worked example

A $25 an hour job equals $1,000 a week, about $4,333 a month, and $52,000 a year at full time. Conversely, a $75,000 salary works out to roughly $36.06 an hour, $1,442 a week, and $6,250 a month. Seeing all these side by side makes it easy to compare a salaried offer against an hourly one.

Gross versus take-home pay

These conversions show gross pay — the amount before taxes and deductions. Your actual take-home pay will be lower after federal and state income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and any benefits or retirement contributions. For a realistic net figure, run the result through a paycheck calculator.

Things to keep in mind

  • Part-time or overtime schedules change the hours assumption; adjust if you do not work a standard 40-hour week.
  • Salaried roles may expect more than 40 hours, lowering your effective hourly rate.
  • Factor in benefits like health insurance, paid time off, and retirement matching when comparing offers, not just the headline number.
  • Contractors should account for self-employment tax and unpaid time off, which make a contract rate worth less than an equivalent salary.
